Turkey Holidays

In Turkey you will find a welcome is accompanied by a friendly smile, from the heart. We hope that Diamond Sky will become like a warm and trusted friend, our local knowledge and expertise guiding you towards your next wonderful holiday experience.

We know Turkey really well and we are passionate about the country, the resorts and the hotels we choose. Why not benefit from our expertise and specialist knowledge to make your next holiday truly unforgettable. This means that we always try our best to go the extra mile to satisfy your needs and make your holiday extra special.

Turkey is a wonderfully warm and welcoming country. Its people are known for their friendly hospitality and anyone who visits remarks on the extraordinary warmth of the welcome which they are given and we know from our clients that we are not alone in feeling that this warm, friendly welcome is one of the reasons that Turkey is such a popular holiday destination.

Turkey also offers a wealth of historic sites and a fascinating cultural heritage to explore. A holiday in Turkey is so much more than a beach holiday which is why many of our clients return year after year. As a Turkey specialist, who has been offering holidays to the country for over 25 years, we have sought out the most charming resorts and hotels. We will help you get away from the crowds and enjoy a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

Blue Flag beaches
415 beaches in Turkey have been awarded the coveted Blue Flag status and the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean and Aegean regions are commonly known as the Turquoise Coast on account of their vivid hue. This combines with countless stunning inlets, isolated beaches and uninhabited islands to make the celebrated ‘Blue Cruise’ route, one of the most idyllic sailing spots in the world.

Eating & drinking
Turkish cuisine is one of the best in the world and the delicious food combined with reasonable prices in local restaurants will ensure that eating out is one of the main highlights of your holiday. An evening begins with the ‘meze’, lots of small plates of hot and cold starters, which can almost be a meal in themselves. There are more types of kebab than you have ever imagined, made from succulent meat. Vegetarians too will be spoilt for choice with a variety of stuffed vegetable ‘dolmas’. There is an abundant supply of fish and a variety of seafood, often freshly caught that day. To accompany your meal try the excellent local wine, the refreshing lager, Efes, or the national tipple, raki. You should round off your meal with a cup of thick, sweet Turkish coffee and a morsel of the world famous Turkish Delight.

Personal service
We are proud to put our guests at the centre of everything which we do offering personal service from the time you first call us until your safe return to the UK.

Multi-centre Holidays
For those who want to make the most of their Turkish holiday, a two or three-centre holiday is the perfect option. Turkey has so much to offer the holiday-maker and is such a diverse destination, boasting an incomparable history, that you may well find that spending all of your time in one place simply isn’t enough. Diamond Sky’s flexible multi-centre holidays allow you to combine a stay in enchanting Istanbul with a stay in a coastal resort of your choice; or with the unique area of Cappadocia, in Turkey’s fascinating interior. We can even offer a holiday combining a stay in the Turkish resort with a stay on one of the Greek islands. If you can’t see the two or three-centre holiday of your choice, simply fill in the enquiry form and submit it to us, or give our friendly, tailor-made experts a call and we will help you put together the holiday of your choice.

Kalkan is a harbour town which just oozes the flavour of Turkey. You will be enchanted by its narrow streets and cobbled alleyways leading up the hillside surrounding the harbour.

Kalkan is the kind of laid-back, lazy resort where time can pass doing virtually nothing except relaxing, soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying your holiday. Spend your days swimming in the clear Mediterranean waters, perhaps from one of the many seafront ‘beach’ clubs, where you can also enjoy watersports such as waterskiing and jetski. Then, what could be better than an early evening promenade through the narrow streets to explore the charming shops, before settling down with a cold glass of wine to admire the views over the harbour-front. Kalkan has an excellent choice of restaurants serving authentic local cuisine and freshly-caught fish, as well as a number of lively bars. With over 25 historic sites less than a two hour drive or boat trip away, Kalkan is a great base for exploring the surrounding area. We have a full programme of tours with English-speaking guides covering most local places of interest.

Kas is a quiet, pleasant seaside town of narrow streets scented with jasmine flowers. There are plenty of little guest houses, quiet cafes serving home cooking, or small bars to relax after a day’s scuba diving. Kas has an annual arts festival, jazz concerts in the Hellenistic theatre and underwater ceramics exhibitions have been held here.

Kas is one of the leading scuba diving spots in Turkey. There are more than 15 dive-centres and diving schools, mostly located at the local port. They offer guided diving trips to the 50 dive spots in the vicinity. Diving in Kas offers beautiful array of fish and other sea creatures like octopus and sea turtles. Besides the biological diversity, Kas offers a vast variety of underwater cultural heritage.

Outdoor sport activities attract the more adventurous visitors to Kas, especially for sea-kayaking at Kekova, mountain biking the backcountry, trekking along the Lycian Way and canyoning in the Kibris Canyon. On Fridays, Greek visitors from nearby islands such as Kastelorizo visit the markets of Kas.

A traditional market town, Fethiye nestles in a natural harbour protected by the small islands off the shore - Sovalye Adasi is the closest with a further eleven islands in the outer bay. Fethiye harbour is the ideal place for a seafront promenade, bustling with fishing boats, gulets and international yachts, whilst the town exudes charm, with some excellent restaurants and a market where locals gather to sell their wares - it is the biggest in the area and the perfect place to hunt for bargains, hone your bartering skills and stock up on holiday souvenirs. As dusk falls the many cafes, lively bars and shops situated in the maze of narrow streets and alleys come to life, overlooked by the floodlit tomb of Amyntas, which dates back to 350 BC, a Doric temple façade carved in the rock face.

The Fethiye region has many interesting places to visit including the fascinating ‘ghost town’ of Kayaköy, long since abandoned, the stunning gorge of Saklikent, literally translated as ‘hidden city’ and of course, the famous beach and blue lagoon of Ölüdeniz, just the other side of the hill, which is easily reached by dolmus. Fethiye is a good starting point from which to explore the surrounding coast by traditional gulet and has become very popular with those learning to scuba dive.

The former farming village of Gocek sits nestled in a valley of pine woods, just a short distance from both Fethiye and Dalaman, but different in character from many of the other beach-oriented resorts in the region. Although Gocek does not have a wealth of public beach facilities (there is a small swimming beach and the larger hotels have access to beaches), it is renowned for it's sailing facilities and is popular with yachtsmen from around the world. It makes for a laid-back and relaxing ambience.

Building controls are tighter here than in some towns and as a result the village centre has retained a lot of its charm and character and is home to a wide range of traditional and international restaurants that can be found along it's citrus-lined promenades.

Named after its famous lagoon, which translates literally as ‘dead sea’, the scenery of this resort is some of the most breath-taking in the whole of Turkey. High pine-clad mountains surround an idyllic bay with a long swathe of pale shingle and coarse sand leading to the protected National Park area of the lagoon with its sandy beach to one end. It is a spectacularly romantic setting, which could be why so many couples choose to get married here.

Ölüdeniz is also the perfect family resort for a laid-back beach holiday. It is a popular resort with numerous lively bars, restaurants and shops alongside the seafront promenade but still retaining an individual charm.

There is plenty of choice when it comes to dining out, with authentic Turkish and international cuisine, fine dining, budget options and many places offering child-friendly menus. While away your days in this hazy, sun blessed resort by sunbathing, sipping on a long, cool refreshing drink or enjoying one of the many water sports and activities available.

Those who dream of slowing the pace of life right down, to escape from the pressures of modern life and return to a more natural rhythm, should visit the charming village of Selimiye. Situated on the Marmaris peninsula, this idyllic traditional Turkish fishing village is set on a wide bay with a mountain backdrop and a ruined fortress on a hill overlooking the azure sea. Fishermen mend their nets on the pebble beach as their colourful boats bob in the clear waters of the bay. The catch of fresh fish and seafood is served the same day at the seafront restaurants, renowned for their delicious fare. The only sounds are those of the craftsmen going about their daily work at the village boatyard and the call to prayer, the haunting chant of the Muezzin, from the tiny whitewashed mosque.

One of Turkey’s best known resorts, a byword for lively nights and bohemian chic, its charming whitewashed buildings with their blue woodwork are set around a beautiful bay overlooking a fairytale castle.

Known in ancient times as Halicarnassus, home to the famous historian Herodotus, Bodrum is the most cosmopolitan and almost certainly the best known of Turkey’s resorts. It first became popular with artists, musicians and actors in the 1960s and ‘70s and quickly established a reputation as a bohemian party capital. Whilst nightlife is still a huge draw, these days Bodrum has re-established itself as Turkey’s capital of chic, home to boutique hotels, stylish bars and elegant eateries.

The name Cappadocia is thought to mean ‘land of beautiful horses’ and in Roman times the brood mares from Cappadocia were very highly prized indeed.
Cappadocia’s landscape was formed around 30 million years ago when volcanic activity left the region blanketed with ash. The ash solidified into what is known as ‘volcanic tuff’, this is an easily eroded material and as it wore away over many years, it left the distinctive rock formations seen in Cappadocia today.
We have a fabulous range of Cappadocia holidays, twin centre Cappadocia & Instanbul holidays and gulet cruises with Cappadocia and Istanbul breaks.

Istanbul is uniquely positioned at the crossroads of the Orient and the Occident, with one foot in Europe and the other in Asia. For the perfect Two-centre holiday, combine a stay in Istanbul with a Turkish or North Cyprus coastal resort.

Standing on the shores of the Bosphorus, the narrow strait where the waters of the Black Sea mingle with those of the Sea of Marmara, Istanbul is also divided by the Golden Horn. Surrounded by water, the city guards the precious remains of the empires of which she has been capital from the yzantine to the Ottoman. Istanbul is a unique link between East and West, past and present.

The Skyline of minarets and domes, mingling with modern skyscrapers immediately strikes the eye as that of a city full of intrigue. There is a continual bustle and movement of the crowds, rumbling of vehicles along the old cobbled streets with everybody going about their everyday business in this lively city. Listen to the cries of the street sellers mingling with the sounds of the ships in the busy port or enjoy one of the many restaurants, cafes and bars, sampling the delicious Turkish cuisine.
